Reasons To Invest

Bulls are finding earnings in the healthcare sector. Quality earnings no less. The recent earnings reports and forward guidance from leading healthcare providers has been nothing but positive.

Tenet reported its financial performance during its fiscal second quarter in early January. The company exceeded analysts' consensus estimates and raised guidance for its coming fiscal year. The company guided investors to expect earnings from operations of $3.10 per share for the year, which represents a 35 percent year-over-year increase in the bottom-line.

The macro fundamentals of the industry have driven sales growth at Tenet among other health care providers. The company has improved its profitability through various measures as well as using its cash flow to pay down debt, resulting in lower interest expenses and showing up as increased earnings.

The back burner where healthcare reform currently resides in addition to the aging American population should combine to continue supporting strong fundamentals in the healthcare industry. Tenet is positioned to achieve strong earnings growth in such a business climate.
